XIRA is an online marketplace known for offering virtual law practice for attorneys that are solo practitioner or have a small firm.[1] It was founded in 2019 by Reza Ghaffari and Omid Farokhzad. XIRA provides attorneys with practice management, billing, document management and video conferencing through its GAVEL software. The platform is designed so that the general public who seeks legal services can easily find the right attorney, schedule a time and meet with online. Through creating ease of access, XIRA aims to shrink the justice gap that is very prevalent.[2]

In Dec 2020, XIRA announced that it’s abolishing the paid subscription model for legal technology tools by providing its GAVEL software suite to attorneys free of charge. XIRA is regarded as one of the leading companies to offer an all integrated practice management platform to the legal community free of charge and has been featured in several media outlets including PR Newswire, MSBCN, Fox News, OWN, HGTV, Above The Law, LawSites, Law.com, Mother Esquire and others.[3][4][5][6]

History

XIRA was founded in 2019 by Reza Ghaffari and Omid Farokhzad with the aim to create a virtual platform for lawyers particularly solo practitioners and small firms to expand their market size. The platform was designed to reduce the operating cost for attorneys and increase their productivity which would ultimately result in closing the justice gap.

In 2020, XIRA fast-tracked its launch ahead of schedule to help attorneys impacted by COVID-19 pandemic to practice remotely and as part of its launch XIRA provided all its features free of charge.

XIRA facilitates a virtual space that allows the attorneys to connect with their clients and offer legal advice along with helping operating their practice. XIRA also provides an opportunity to create project-based virtual teams, and reduce time spent on non-billable tasks. Some of the features of this virtual platform are that it allows the users to search for lawyers, select them based on custom criteria, book time on their calendar, and meet with them online. The custom-based search can be optimized according to an hourly rate, availability, free initial consult offering, and more.
