Wexler Group is a Ukrainian business conglomerate specialising in the import and distribution of oil products and liquefied gas. The company was established in 2012 by Petro Belz and is headquartered in Kyiv, Ukraine.[1] Wexler Group is Ukraine’s largest importer of petroleum products. In 2021, the group achieved the 48th position among Forbes' ranking of Ukraine's top 100 private enterprises.[2]
History
Wexler Group was founded in 2012 by Petro Belz, a renowned Ukrainian entrepreneur. Headquartered in Kyiv, Ukraine, the group has emerged as the foremost supplier of light petroleum products, with a network encompassing ten enterprises across both domestic and international landscapes.[3] Since its inception, the group has expanded its influence within the market, delivering top-tier services for the sale and distribution of light petroleum products in Ukraine.[4] The group's assets encompass a diverse fleet of sea and river vessels, gas carriers, and motor vehicles, catering to the movement of diesel and gasoline.[5] Long-term leases of strategic transshipment terminals and collaborations with ports further fortify the group's operational prowess.[6]
Wexler Group initially focused on the retail petroleum trade. By 2016, the group had emerged as a leader in diesel fuel imports, leveraging pipeline transport through the "Prykarpatzakhidtrans" oil product pipeline. In 2018, Wexler Group's sales reached 1.4 million tons, contributing tax payments of UAH 10.921 billion of VAT and excise duty.[7]
In 2019, the company, under the leadership of its visionary founder, Petro Belz, signed a memorandum of collaboration with Poland's Unimot, focusing on oil production and processing. The plan included the expansion of gas station networks under the internationally recognized AVIA brand.[8]
In 2021, Wexler Group made ties with supplier Proton Energy and discontinued the import of Russian fuel. With an emphasis on maritime transportation through the Port of Pivdenny, the group pivoted its focus and significantly reduced petroleum product imports by 3.1 times in the first half of the year.[9][10]
Anvitrade
Anvitrade, an integral component of the Wexler Group, serves as a significant supplier to various state-owned entities, notably SE "Ukrzaliznytsia." With a track record in state tenders, its contractual transactions have exceeded UAH 3.4 billion. Anvitrade introduced pioneering "formula purchases" for fuel in 2018, resulting in enhanced operational efficiency and substantial cost savings amounting to UAH 70 million for Ukrzaliznytsia.[11]
The company holds a notable position as one of Ukraine's largest customers for railway diesel transportation services.[12] Its reliability as a diesel fuel supplier for "Ukrzaliznytsia" is underscored by a consistent adherence to cooperation terms. Anvitrade also serves as the exclusive operator for truckload shipments originating from Novohrad-Volynskoye and Smyga.[13]

- Wexler Group achieved the 48th and 52nd positions on Forbes' list of the top 100 largest private companies in Ukraine for the years 2021 and 2020, respectively.
- In the Business-Censor ranking, Anvitrade LLC and Optimus Oil LLC secured the 54th and 102nd positions, respectively, among Ukraine's top 200 largest enterprises.
