Petro Belz (Ukrainian: Петро Белз) is a Ukrainian entrepreneur and prominent figure in the nation's petroleum industry.[1] He is the founder and owner of Wexler Global, a major player in the import and distribution of petroleum products and liquefied gas.[2] Belz has garnered recognition for his significant contributions to the sector and was recognized as one of the most influential individuals in the Ivano-Frankivsk region in 2021.[3]
Early life and education
Belz was born and raised in Ivano-Frankivsk, where he attended the Ivano-Frankivsk Private Institute of Economics and Law and subsequently graduated from the Ternopil Academy of National Economy, specializing in economics. Belz moved to Kyiv, Ukraine, in 2011.
Career
Belz started his entrepreneurial career by establishing a vehicle maintenance station, gradually diversifying his endeavors into land leasing and share acquisition from local collective farms.[4][5]
In 2012, Petro Belz founded Wexler Global, a conglomerate engaged in the import and sale of petroleum products and liquefied gas.[6] Under his leadership, the company has emerged as the largest importer of petroleum products in Ukraine, with a sales volume reaching 1.4 million tons.[7] Notably, Wexler Global secured the 48th and 52nd positions in Forbes' list of the top 100 largest private companies in Ukraine in 2021 and 2020, respectively.[8]
The Wexler Global encompasses a network of ten companies, spanning both domestic and international operations.[9] The company's portfolio includes sea and river transport assets, gas carriers, and strategically significant transshipment terminals.[10] One of the notable subsidiaries withhe Wexler Global is Anvitrade, which holds a key role as a supplier to state-owned enterprises and is a significant consumer of diesel fuel, particularly for SE "Ukrzaliznytsia."[11][12]
Belz holds the honorary title of President of the Free Fighting Association.[13] He also owns the Earth History Park, the "Underhill" airfield situated in the village of Pidhirya, and an industrial park and animal park within the Carpathian region.[14]
His commitment to the energy sector and regional development earned him recognition as one of the most influential individuals in the Ivano-Frankivsk region in 2021.
