AwardsGreat British Entrepreneur of the Year (2021)

Wayne Spriggs (born June 23, 1974) is a British entrepreneur, high-end property developer, and investor.[1][2] He is best known as the founder of Lusso Stone, a leading manufacturer of luxury bathroom products based in the United Kingdom. Spriggs has achieved remarkable success in his entrepreneurial career, having grown his business from a £10,000 overdraft to a valuation of over £150 million in just six years.[3][4][5]

Early life and education

Spriggs was born in Middlesbrough, North Yorkshire, England, to Kevin and Christine, as their eldest son. He grew up in a council house with his brother, Paul, and sister, Janine.[6][7] At 12, Spriggs began delivering milk and newspapers to locals before school to become independent and make money. He holds a master’s degree in business administration.[8][9]

Career

Spriggs established his first formal venture, a men's wear brand called Base Clothing, in 1998.[10][11] He later found a business partner and engaged in purchasing and selling ex-council housing stock, showcasing his entrepreneurial vision. Spriggs took advantage of the property market crash in 2000 by buying properties at a lower price point and renovating them before selling them for a profit. He has continued this strategy for 20 years, renovating and selling over 40 properties.[12][13]

In 2014, Spriggs founded Lusso Stone, a leading manufacturer of luxury bathroom products, which has since become the industry standard in luxury bathrooms, furniture, tiles, hardware, and more.[14][15] The brand grew to £32 million in annual revenue in 2021, tripling the employee count and raising the company's valuation to over £150 million. Lusso Stone now delivers to over thirty nations worldwide, and Spriggs aims to lead it toward a £1 billion valuation.[16][17]

Awards and recognitions

  • Spriggs has been credited with the Great British Entrepreneur of the Year award (2021).
  • He has been featured amongst the Top 50 Most Ambitious Business Leaders in the Lloyds Banking Group.

Personal life

Spriggs is married to his wife, Nicola, and together they have a son named Sonny and a daughter named Chloe. Spriggs enjoys spending his free time hiking with friends, taking trips away, and experiencing new restaurants on family weekends away.[18][19][20]

Despite his success, he remains grounded and committed to supporting his community. He supports local charitable causes and individuals in the area and believes in helping others when possible.[21]
