Wargrave was a South African thrash metal band from Cape Town, South Africa. The band began as a traditional thrash metal act and later incorporated elements of technical death metal and melodic death metal.[1] The band was active in the South African Metal scene until disbanding in 2017. [2]

Recognition and awards

In 2016, Wargrave won the South African Metal Music Award (SAMMA) for Best Thrash Metal Band and was runner-up for Album of the Year for their debut album Suffering the Void.[3]

Notable performances

Wargrave performed at several prominent South African metal festivals, including Metal4Africa’s Summerfest and Winterfest events, as well as Rock the River festival appearances in the early 2010s.[4][5]
