Vivek Soni (born March 31, 1986) is an Indian actor, film director and screenwriter. His notable works are Meenakshi Sundareshwar, Chaar Cutting and Bawdi.

Early life

Vivek Soni was born on March 31, 1986 at Bhilwara district, Rajasthan. He completed his school education from St. Anselm's Senior Secondary School, Bhilwara district|Bhilwara. He joined IcfaiTech, Dehradun|ICFAI-Tech, Hyderabad and earned a degree in Electrical and Communication Engineering in the year 2008. He was an intern at Ogilvy & Mather, Mumbai. Later he studied Filmmaking at Subhash Ghai's Whistling Woods International.

Career

Education, 2004-2009

During his ICFAI-Tech days Vivek Soni became a part of college theater group Puppets of God and performed in comedy plays Star War - Attack of the Clowns and Sutta Na Mila.

He had played Shah Rukh Khan in Star war and in Sutta Na Mila, he played a character called Rajinikanth|Rajnikanth. His acting and dancing capabilities were always appreciated by everyone.

He also performed at Mood Indigo (festival)|Mood-Indigo, IIT Bombay|IIT Mumbai. He did several stage performances including State Representation for Rajasthan.

2010-2013

Vivek Soni worked as Intern at Ogilvy & Mather. Later he joined Whistling Woods International where he learned filmmaking. His student movie Bawdi received several awards and recognitions. He started working in the movie industry as visual effects coordinator for Ra.One and Vishwaroopam.

2014-2020

In 2014 Vivek worked as an assistant director for Hasee Toh Phasee and also did a minor role in it. He also directed one of the stories in the anthology film Chaar Cutting. He was also a script supervisor for Shaandaar and Udta Punjab. He was also assistant director for Sonchiriya and Raat Akeli Hai.

2021–present

On November 5, 2021 Vivek made his directorial debut with the romantic comedy Meenakshi Sundareshwar.
