Vinu A.K.[1] is an Indian filmmaker from Kasaragod,Kerala. He has assumed the name of his native village as his surname and is better known by the name, Vinu Kolichal. His directional debut feature film ,'Bilathikuzhal[2]' which had its premiere at Jio MAMI Mumbai Film Festival 2018[3] earned him critical-acclaim[4] and subsequently had its official selection in various fests like NFDC Film Bazaar's Industry Screening 2018[5], International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK) 2018[6], Kochi-Muziris Biennale 2018 Artist's Cinema Section[7] etc. His work, 'Bilathikuzhal’[8]' garnered him Special Jury Mention – FFSI K R Mohanan Award[9]in IFFK[10] 2018, 'John Abraham Award for Best Malayalam Cinema (2018)[11]' by Federation of Film Societies of India(FFSI) Kerala.
