Career

Vasundhara has been a part of several school choirs and other choirs since the age of 4. During her schooling, she took an interest in French and soon started learning and singing French songs. The French embassy of Mumbai took notice when she won several contests and decided to send her to France to promote cultural exchange. Later she toured Turkey, Bulgaria and France through the French Embassy.

By the time she was 17, she came to take on projects as a studio singer (for jingles) and voice over artist.

She also started guesting around with several bands before forming and being part of the Jazz duo Adil and Vasundhara[3], with Guitarist and composer Adil manuel. They went on performing for around 5 years before she lost her voice in 2012. After recovery, she trained under Mark Baxter. In 2013, the duo decided to disband.

She continued as a solo artist collaborating with different musicians over the years. She has performed for festivals like Dhaka Jazz Fest (2015), Serendipity Arts Festival (2016), The Goa International Jazz Live Festival (2017), MTV India Music Summit (2017), Open Hand Jazz Fest (2018).

She is currently also the vocalist for the band Merkaba with Sanjay Divecha on Guitar, Gino Banks on Drums, Sheldon D'Silva on Bass and Rohan rajadhyashka on Keys. Merkaba has released 2 singles in 2020 called Good Days and The Everyman. [4][5].

She has lent her voice to TV commercials for brands such as Levi Strauss & Co. starring Deepika Padukone and collaborated with GOOD EARTH Spring Collection. She also performed at the Lakme Fashion Week.

After 15 years of several collaborations with artists like Ranjit Barot, Louis Banks, Loy Mendonsa, Mahalakshmi Iyer, Purbayan Chatterjee, Mohini Dey; she released her first single Run in 2021[6][7]. Rolling Stone India ranked Run as Top 1 amongst the 10 best Indian singles of 2021.[8]

Coaching

While being a singer, Vasundhara also takes an interest in teaching. She now focuses on teaching professional singers to sing with better technique. She has launched her own voice development platform called The School of Voice for training professional voices. She is currently a mentor at the Global music institute (Noida, Delhi) and has helped to design curriculum for several schools and music colleges in India. Besides this, she has also released a book with her teachings for gigging musicians called Big Dreams Bold Choices.
