Tom Nolan (born 31 January 1999 in Luton, England) is a English freestyle footballer and a signed Adidas Athlete.[1] Tom is better known as TNFreestyle for his viral football videos on the internet.[2]

Background

Tom attended Stopsley High School in Luton. He briefly played youth football for Luton Town, although stopped playing at a young age uncertain of a future in the professional game after the passing of his Grandfather in 2012 who he credits as one of his biggest inspirations.[3] Tom later decided to pursue freestyle football and his online career when he saw the opportunity arise after his first video went viral in his final year of high school back in 2015.[4] After developing his footballing skills for a number of years, Tom was invited to LA in 2018 by Manchester United FC to train with his childhood club making a name for himself.[5] He has ammassed over 50 million views online and a following of 200,000.

However, back in 2017, Tom made his official debut in a nationwide Adidas campaign which went live across their social media platforms kick starting his career. The same year, Tom teamed up with his boy hood idols F2 Freestylers, filming his first advert alongside the freestyle duo, from there his online following continued to grow.[6] Tom has since featured in various campaigns for brands such as Adidas, EE, Manchester United F.C., TikTok and his first ever on BBC Sport.[7]

Career

Tom has travelled the world with his football skills, in 2018 he joined Manchester United F.C. on their pre season tour in Los Angeles with Adidas.[8] He displayed his freestyle tricks and skills for the Manchester United F.C. first team and joined the Premier League side for training sessions in preparation of the season ahead.[9] Tom also attended multiple press events alongside the cub and can be seen featured in articles from the Daily Mail and on the official Manchester United F.C. channels.[10]

Tom was invited to attend The Best FIFA Football Awards due to his influence in the football community to be present as they awarded football stars from around the world the prestigious awards. In attendance were professional footballers such as Luka Modric, Eden Hazard, Mo Salah, Zidane and many other football legends.[11]

He made his first YouTube appearance back in 2017 alongside F2 Freestylers in the EE Wembley Cup representing their team "Tekkers Town", winning the freestyle duo Steven Gerrard to play on their team at Wembley stadium.[12]

His latest viral football video was as recent as December 2019 when he was invited by Sky Sports to the Soccer AM studio. He was challenged to film a viral video on the set and did so with his video achieving over 10 million views in just 25 days making it one of the show's most viewed clips in history.[13]
