Toby Smiles (Born April 28, 2003) is an American specially-abled social media influencer and content creator. He aspires to be an inspiration for disabled people and believes in creating content that helps them overcome their insecurities, step out of their comfort zone, and lead a normal life.
Smiles is a social media sensation, boasting millions of followers across all his social media handles. His popular posts include an Instagram challenge created with an objective to help disabled children have fun and enjoy doing things like a normal kid, as well as a post called “silly Starbucks dream,” through which he hopes to get a Starbucks drink named after his name, Toby Smiles.
Early life and education
Toby Smiles was born in Illinois, United States. Smiles is a specially-abled full-time social media influencer with cerebral palsy. He is currently attending college at Cairn University. He has his spiritual belonging toward Jesus and wants to become a pastor.
Career
Toby Smiles was interested in technology and social media from an early age and kept following the latest trends, which eventually helped him build his social media handles. He aspires to be an inspiration for disabled people and motivate them to lead normal lives.[1][2]
In 2018, Smiles started his YouTube channel. He created his first YouTube video called predictions for 2018. Initially, he rarely posted on his channel. But, with his interest in technology, he decided to create a technology channel and posted content about various features and how to do things on computers and phones. Inspired by Rachel Ballinger, he started creating videos to earn a living. His content revolves around educating people on how to treat physically challenged people.
Smiles creates and posts inspirational content on his social media handles. Some of his remarkable posts include an Instagram challenge created to help disabled children have fun and enjoy doing things like normal kids. In his post, he wrote, “I challenge you to be a friend of a disabled person and help them to do those kinds of things that normal kids do.”
Currently, Smiles’ Instagram post, which he calls a “silly Starbucks dream,” is trending, wherein he shares his love for Starbucks and wants to get a drink named after him. In addition, he has posted a petition titled “Get A Starbucks Drink Named After Toby Smiles” and is requesting signatures in the hope that the brand will name a drink after him for a limited time.
He is a social media star with over 11,200 followers on Instagram and 1.1 million followers on TikTok.[3]
