Timon Kyle Durrett (born July 12, 1972) is an American actor[1], producer, activist,[2] author and artist. He is perhaps best known for his roles as Davis West on the Award Winning TV series Queen Sugar[3], as Luvell on Patricia Cuffie-Jones's[4] Stuck With You and on the TV series Single Ladies Single Ladies. Timon is active in the Actor and Black Lives Matter Communities in Los Angeles.[2]

Early life

Durrett was born and raised on the southside of Chicago, Illinois. He attended Fenger Academy High School, Roseland community. He is one of eight children, with five brother's and two sisters. He attended Alcorn State University where he played on the basketball team and is a member of Phi Beta Sigma fraternity. He graduated Cum laude|Cum Laude with a B.A. in Communications in 1998. Soon thereafter Durrett moved to Los Angeles, California to pursue his acting career.

Career

Early in Durrett’s career he was cast on shows such as CSI: Miami, CSI: NY, Samantha Who? and also played Henderson on the film Like Mike. Additionally, Durrett was cast in roles as Jordan in Zoe Ever After, Officer Terrence in Barbershop: The Next Cut and as Quinn Davis in Single Ladies (TV series). Timon has made guest appearances on shows such as Bait, Dead Ringer, Eve and The Break-up. He spent 11 years as a certified personal trainer in Los Angeles, California published his first book "Who the Hell do I Think I am?[5][6] in 2014. In 2016, he was cast on Oprah Winfrey Network|Oprah Winfrey Network's Queen Sugar[7] created by critically acclaimed filmmaker Ava DuVernay[8] as Davis West a pro basketball player.
