History
Stewart/Perry Company was founded in 1984 by Merrill H. Stewart Jr. and Charles Perry in Birmingham, Alabama.[4] The company is licensed by the Alabama Licensing Board for General Contractors and has expanded from a regional contractor into a construction firm serving retail, commercial, industrial, multifamily, adaptive reuse, and mixed-use development projects in the southeastern United States and beyond Since its founding, the company has completed projects for private developers, retailers, institutional organizations, and commercial property owners.[5]

Headquarters
The company's headquarters is located on a 16-acre campus at 4855 Overton Road in Birmingham, Alabama.[7] The campus opened in 2008 and was designed by Birmingham-based architecture firm HKW. The office building received LEED Silver certification from the U.S. Green Building Council for its environmentally sustainable design. Sustainable features include large operable windows for natural lighting and ventilation, recycled wood salvaged from construction projects, repurposed oak flooring, and a year-round vegetable garden.[8][9]
