The Lunaz is Group is a British company that restores, re-engineers and converts vehicles to electric powertrains. It is based in Silverstone, England.[1]

It was founded in 2018 by entrepreneur, David Lorenz and engineer Jon Hilton with founding investment from art dealer and technology investor Christopher 'CJ' Jones and OPI Investments.[2] In June 2021, the company announced investment from the Barclay, Rueben and Dallal families and former England footballer, David Beckham. [3]

The Lunaz Group includes the following divisions: Lunaz Design: produces restored, re-engineered and electrified classic cars. Models include the Jaguar XK120, 140 and 150, the Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud and Rolls-Royce Phantom V[4], the Bentley Continental S1,S2 and S3[5] and the Range Rover Classic.[6]

Lunaz Applied Technologies: was announced in June 2021. It will remanufacture and convert industrial vehicles including recycling trucks to an electric powertrain, engineered in-house by Lunaz. [7]

Key People: Jon Hilton, the former technical director at Renault F1 developed the company's electric powertrain and is the company's Technical Lead and Managing Director. While at Renault F1 he was part of the team that won back-to-back Formula 1 World Championships in 2005 and 2006. [7]

Recognition: In May 2021, the 1961 Bentley Continental S1 electrified by Lunaz was featured as a winner in BBC Top Gear Magazine's Electric Awards issue in the category of retro EV. [8][9]
