The Garden Plot is a Utah-based modern rock band. Their biggest hit to date is Suburbs with 382,619 streams on Spotify as of late 2024.[1] The band formed at Davis High School during a math class in 2020, despite only one of the members knowing how to play an instrument at the time.[2] Baxter Adams (lead singer), Tanner Stuart (guitar), Gavin Cox (bass), Ian Edgar (drums), and Alex Scheffer (guitar).[3][2]
Style
The songs primarily fit a rock profile, with some alternative sound as well. The songs are guitar-heavy with normal rock drum beats. The songs include an unusual amount of harmonization and singing for rock. The vocals are completely clean, with no filters or auto-tune.
Later songs like "Am I That Easy to Forget?" and "Witch Girl" feature more distorted guitar bearing resemblance to Eddie Van Halen or The Beastie Boys.
