The Curse of K.K Hammond is a British slide guitarist and singer-songwriter who incorporates elements of Delta Blues, roots music, and Southern Gothic horror into her music. Hammond's unique sound has garnered critical acclaim worldwide, as well as airplay on a variety of blues radio shows internationally.[1][2] Her music has been described as a fusion of the vibe of the swamp with a sprinkle of Southern gothic horror, resulting in a new twist on traditionally-inspired roots music that appeals to a modern audience as well as classic blues fans.[3][4]

Hammond's debut album, "Death Roll Blues," is set for release on March 31, 2023, and her single "The Ballad of Lampshade Ed" has already reached number one on the UK iTunes Blues chart. In addition to her passion for resonator guitars, Hammond is a self-professed hermit who lives in isolation on a farm in the English countryside, drawing inspiration from the wilderness surrounding her home for her songwriting.[5][6]

Early life

Hammond was born and raised in London, England. She spent her early years in London, where she developed an interest in blues, roots, folk and metal music. She became obsessed with slide guitar playing and started experimenting with open tunings.[7]

Hammond always longed for a more remote way of life and eventually moved to a remote farm surrounded by woodland, where she could focus on her music and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. Her dream is to live even further off the beaten track, perhaps in a cabin deep in the Southern swamps.[8]

Hammond's career as a musician began with her slide guitar performances on social media.
