Tejas Prabha Vijay Deoskar (born 14th May 1983) is an actor, writer and film director of Marathi and Hindi films. Tejas[1] has over 16 years of experience in the film industry.

Son of Vijay Govind Deoskar, He began his directorial career with the groundbreaking Ajinkya(2012) and has since delivered many box office hits over a period of 16 years. After the success of Ajinkya(2012), Tejas [2]worked on Premsutra (2013), which also received commercial success at the box office.

Tejas formed Blue Mustang creations along with a couple of like-minded people like Ashok Subhedar in 2016.

Tejas[3] started his career with the short film Kalakaar which was released in early 2006 and went to various film festivals worldwide winning accolades all over. Tejas worked on similar notable projects amongst them were “Bachhon ka Khel” and “Sunehari Raakh”. In 2009, Tejas received his first commercial breakthrough as a writer with Pratisaad followed by his Directorial Debut with "Ajinkya" in 2012.

Tejas became a top Marathi director with hits including Kalakaar, Sunehari Raakh, Ajinkya, Premsutra, and Bucket List.

After the commercial success of Bucket list, Tejas announced his next film Baba as a creative producer under the banner of Blue Mustang with Sanjay Dutt filmography as Co-producer where Tejas was the Co-writer as well.

Marathi film career

In Mid-2004, Tejas[4] started his journey in a local media company, which helped Tejas gain knowledge to transform the Marathi film industry with his direction and writing. Tejas made debut in the Marathi film industry with Pratisaad where Tejas first got the taste of writing along with Gautam Poddar was also a co-writer on both Pratisaad and Ajinkya. Tejas then went on to make his directorial debut with Ajinkya which clearly showed his storytelling and screenplay skills. This was the first film on Basketball in the Marathi film industry. It received critical acclaim and reasonable box office appreciation. Tejas also showed his storytelling and screenplay skills in his following film Premsutra. In 2016, Tejas collaborated with an industrialist and formed a company called Blue Mustang. The first film that went under Blue Mustang’s banner was Bucket List which was written by Tejas [5]along with Devashree Shivadekar, Starring the Bollywood veteran Madhuri Dixit, It also had Ranbir Kapoor in a cameo. Bucket List (2018 film) made a lot of Noise in Marathi as well as Hindi film Industry. It was presented by Karan Johar as his maiden venture in Regional cinema. It became one of the most successful films of 2018. It marked the arrival of Tejas Deoskar as a director. It was screened in the USA and other countries and received a roaring commercial response.

The same year, Tejas announced the next film, “Baba”, under Blue Mustang’s banner with Sanjay Dutt filmography as Co-producers. "Baba" became a critically acclaimed film when it was released on 2nd August 2019. It went on to win a total of 17 awards in various national and international festivals. It also competed in the much-respected Golden Globe Awards in LA.

Currently, Tejas is working on multiple projects in various capacities ranging from writer, director to associate producer. His next directorial venture is awaiting a public announcement soon. “Baba”, received Filmfare Marathi Awards award in 3 categories- Best Film Critics Award, Best Story and Best Actor to Deepak Dobriyal.

Personal life

Tejas[6] is a sports enthusiast at heart. Tejas is a national player of Speed skating and artistic skating. He has represented his state at the national level multiple times and has won silver and bronze medals in artistic and speed skating respectively. He has won more than 10 gold medals in state-level championships. Tejas played basketball at the state level for several years. He represented his club, Shivaji Nagar Gymkhana , in various tournaments. His maiden directorial venture, “Ajinkya”, was based on his personal experiences in the field of Basketball

Tejas Married Juilee Hoshingon on 19th January 2012. Juilee is a landscape Architect and runs her firm Green Impressions.
