Tayo Aduloju is the Chief Operations Officer and Senior Fellow, Economic Policy, Strategy and Competitiveness at the Nigerian Economic Summit Group[1]. He is a scholar-practitioner, economist, policy entrepreneur, strategist, futurist, reformer, and teacher[2]. Aduloju’s experience spans across several sectors including: Aviation, Agriculture, Banking and Finance, Economic and Fiscal Development, Human Resources, Governance Performance Management, Impact Monitoring and Reporting, Investment Promotion, Microfinance, Maritime Development, Transport Policy, Job Creation and Labour, Defence, Public Procurement, National Security and Public Service Reforms.[3][4][2] Tayo held several strategic policy advisory roles and appointments to presidential, ministerial and sub-national level leaders in Nigeria, like Obasanjo, Yar’Adua, Jonathan and Buhari.[5] In his role at the NESG, a private-sector-led think tank and policy advocacy group, Tayo leads NESG’s network of national public-private leadership and dialogue platforms to promote the reform of the Nigerian economy into a globally competitive, inclusive and sustainable one[6][7]. Tayo’s recent activities include: Okun Economic Fellow, for Africa and the Middle East focused on Growth Development support in fifteen High-Growth Potential Nations; Programme Director, NESG High-Level Forum on Sustainable Development Goals; Co-Chair Nigeria Open Government Partnership (Non-State Actor); Chair, Technical Review Team, Nigeria Agenda 2050, 2030 and 2025; Coordinator, Country 2050 Agenda Futurology Technical Working Group; Coordinator, Poverty Eradication and Social Protection Technical Working Group; Chair, Country Illicit Financial Flows Mapping Group; and Private Sector Adviser, Presidential Taskforce on COVID-19.[8][9][10]

Career

Nigerian Economic Summit Group

Tayo Aduloju is the Chief Operations Officer and a Senior Fellow, at the Nigerian Economic Summit Group[7]. In 2017, he addressed the Presidential Closing Plenary of the Nigerian Economic Summit and tasked national leaders on the need for a sense of urgency.[11] In his lectures, Tayo teaches young business leaders to adopt a more engaged and agile reformer’s mindset to national change[12][13]. Tayo’s economic policy commentary, explores a balance between empirical data and pragmatism to the economic reform discourse on mass media and online channels[14][15][16][17][18] Tayo was the NESG’s Leading Archivist and Historian for the production of the short documentary series on the History and Impact of the NESG, called, “In the National Interest”.[19][20] Tayo promotes of the global Public-Private Dialogue Principles and Practices, and has overseen its institutionalisation and compliance at the NESG[21]
