Tana DeSimone is a board-certified internal medicine physician recognized for her expertise in healthcare management and leadership. Education

DeSimone graduated from La Salle University with a Bachelor of Arts degree. She earned her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed a Master of Business Administration (MBA) at the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 2015. She received training in health policy at the New York Institute of Technology. DeSimone is board-certified in internal medicine by the American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine.

Career

DeSimone began her career in 2005 at Executive Health Resources, where she was senior medical director and director of managed care operations. In 2012, she joined UnitedHealthcare as medical director, and she later became regional vice president and senior medical director of inpatient care management. At Optum, she was regional chief medical officer and later national chief medical officer. DeSimone is a physician executive at RELI Group, Inc., focusing on payment integrity for national healthcare organizations.

DeSimone is a member of the American Osteopathic Association and CHIEF, a private network aimed at promoting women into leadership roles and supporting their success. She serves on the advisory board of the U-VOL Foundation,[2] which addresses health and wellness needs in vulnerable populations through medical outreach, health education, WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene), and other healthcare sustainability initiatives. DeSimone is also a board member of the Society for AI & Health (SAIH), which promotes ethical approaches to artificial intelligence in the healthcare industry.
