TAXIBOX is a privately owned company in the moving and storage industry headquartered in Melbourne, Australia.[1][2] The company is best known for its range of convenient, secure, and cost-effective solutions such as on-site self-storage, mobile coolrooms, mobile self storage, and removalist solutions.[3] TAXIBOX operates in both the drop-box and removalist mobile storage models.[4]

Founded in 2010, TAXIBOX has disrupted the storage industry[5] growing exponentially within the past decade expanding across Australia including the major hubs of Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane with more five star reviews than any other competitor, it has also become Australia’s preferred storage provider when it comes to moving, building, renovating, sorting inventory, or cleaning up.[6]

History

TAXIBOX was founded in 2010 by Ben Cohn and Jeremy Rosen after witnessing a similar concept in America,[7] which they wanted to apply to the drastically changing Australian demographic.[8] After noticing that downsizing was becoming a popular trend (necessity) for people of all ages, TAXIBOX began offering a simple mobile self storage rental plan that includes free delivery and pick-up of mobile self storage units.[9] These unique offerings by TAXIBOX appealed to a new generation of consumers, particularly amongst Millennials, young professionals and working mothers, who could now manage their entire storage operation from the convenience of their own homes.[10] TAXIBOX is also popular in the construction industry due to their durable steel structure and convenient size.[11]

With COVID-19 bringing on a sharp increase in renovations, office relocations and interstate moves, alongside an overall increased need for storage solutions in Australia, TAXIBOX has time and again been mentioned in media and quoted as storage experts.[12]

Since its inception, TAXIBOX has also been incorporating an innovative and sustainable approach, revolutionizing the moving industry by saving time, money, and energy. The highlighting feature of TAXIBOX is that all of its containers are weatherproof, sturdy, and elevated above ground level. While servicing the clients, TAXIBOX ensures that the storage container keys are held by the customer at all times.[13][14]

TAXIBOX has built a reputation for challenging the boundaries of traditional storage, making both moving in and out convenient and cost-effective,[15] in addition to their highly successful self storage projects in mobile and on-site self storage facilities.[16] The company has also recently included bespoke features to its services such as real-time tracking, contactless delivery and pick-up, keyless Bluetooth locks, and a storage calculator.[17]
