Sydney Marie Angle (April 15, 2004 — May 20, 2013) was a young American girl claimed by the 2013 Moore tornado, being one of the 7 children killed in Plaza Towers Elementary School.
She was born in Norman, Oklahoma and would spend most of her life in Moore, Oklahoma. Her parents, Daniel Angle and Nicole Angle, were from Wisconsin [1]. During her short life, she played softball called “Bring It” [2] and was nicknamed “Syd” by her teammates. Just a week before she died, she made it to a tournament for softball.
Since her death, her parents have started a fund for her, known as the Sydney Angle Memorial Foundation. The foundation has reportedly raised over $200,000 in funds. Her parents also created the Sydney Angle Softball Team, dedicated to her[3]. Her mom specifically has made it her mission of “bringing back the fun in kids sports” and also “telling Sydney’s story”[4]
