Swinburne University of Technology, or Swinburne for short, is a public research university in Melbourne, Australia. To meet the needs of residents of Melbourne's eastern suburbs who did not have easy access to higher education, George Swinburne established what was then known as Eastern Suburbs Technical College in 1908. The main campus is located in the Melbourne neighbourhood of Hawthorn, around 7.5 kilometres from Melbourne's city centre.

Besides its main campus in Hawthorn, it also has other locations in the Melbourne suburbs of Wantirna and Croydon, as well as in Sarawak, Malaysia, and Sydney, Australia.

According to the results of the 2020 Student Experience Survey, eighty percent of Swinburne's undergraduates were satisfied with their "entire education experience." Swinburne University of Technology is the only Melbourne university to provide aviation degrees, which includes the training necessary to become a pilot.
