Suresh Kohli was born in transit on 19 May 1947 during partition. He lived in New Delhi and Mumbai. He started as a poet in English and published the first volume of the verse, “Death’s Epicure” written between January 1965 and December 1969 (Writers Workshop, Calcutta, 1970). He is known as a writer, translator, editor literary critic and film historian. He has so far published over thirty five books.
He had the privilege of interviewing several distinguished writers, poets, critics, playwrights, dancers, musicians, painters, film actors and filmmakers of national and international repute in print and electronic media. Amongst them:

Career[2][3][4]
SURESH KOHLI chose to be Self Employed most of his life. He did work for short periods with, News Journals, Magazines and Publishing Houses.
He wrote extensively in regular columns of Local Newspapers, National Dailies and Magazines on Hindi Cinema, Poetry and Literature. To name a few, he wrote for The Hindu, Hindustan Times, The Tribune, Deccan Herald, [5]Mid Day, The Illustrated weekly of India, Debonair, Swagat and many more.
He made a 13 episode Television serial called Rishte Naate in 1984[2]. He made biopics on writers, poets, artists, photographers and other important personalities, making a total of over 100 films between 1992-2016.
