Sunny Diamonds is an Indian based designer, manufacturer, and retailer of diamonds and jewelry.^[1] Founded in 2006 by P.P. Sunny, the company has grown to become one of the largest sellers of diamonds and jewelry in India.^[2] The company is best known for offering state of the art handcrafted, custom made and quality pure diamond and platinum jewelry.^[3] Sunny Diamonds is headquartered in Kochi, Kerala. The company has store locations in Kochi, Calicut, Trivandrum, and Nagercoil, where customers can experience world-class diamond jewelry.^[4]

The company entered the Diamond jewelry business in 1998 and within a year, they specialized in Diamond jewelry manufacturing. Right from the beginning, the company started offering high-end quality of Diamonds (Internally Flawless) and offered 100% money back on diamond value.^[5] They also worked on educating the jewelers on how to identify and differentiate between the quality of diamonds and started diamond jewelry distribution in South India. In 2000, the company entered the Middle East market.^[6] In 2006, they started the retail chain as Sunny Diamonds.^[7]

Sunny Diamonds is one of the distinguished importers of Belgium Diamonds in India, recognized for its exclusive collections the Raydiance and the Auriga.^[8] The company’s Cochin based showroom is one of the largest diamond showrooms in Kerala operating out of a 12,000 sq area.^[9] It has created its name in the diamond industry with its timeless quality and upskills jewelry trends.^[10] Sunny Diamonds has been often named as Kerala’s own diamond jewellery brand and it is the state's biggest retail chain for diamond jewellery.^[11]

History

Sunny Diamonds was founded by P.P. Sunny in 2006, who is a pioneer in the diamond merchandising industry. Within a year of its inception, Sunny Diamonds became a highly acclaimed and prestigious jewelry store under the leadership of P.P. Sunny.

The first jewelry boutique opened in 2006 is a 6 storied building, with a separate floor dedicated to Diamond Tourism where visitors can learn about diamonds and also explore local craftsmanship.

The Raydiance collection by Sunny Diamonds is inspired by the ethnic Indian culture and is dedicated to the brides of India. It comprises a necklace, finger ring, earrings, and a bracelet. The Auriga on the other hand is an inspired collection that represents the galaxy, with each piece named after ancient constellations. This collection features some of the brightest, most exquisite solitaires in the industry.

In 2009, Sunny Diamonds partnered with Muthoot group to become the first jewellery brands to pledge the Diamond jewellery sold by them. Three years later, Forevermark, the diamond brand from De Beers Group of Companies, entered into a partnership with Sunny Diamonds to launch its new collections in Kerala state. Forevermark launched a collection of traditional and contemporary designs from its Cornerstones collection. In the launch event, Forevermark announced that it partnered with Sunny Diamonds as they were not only their authorized jewellers but also fulfil their business and social requirements.

In late 2015, Sunny Diamonds announced that it is taking its business online and launched its online ecommerce store on 1 January 2016. The portal was launched as sunnydiamonds.com and it was inaugurated by Infosys co-founder, Kris Gopalakrishnan. Within a few months of its launch, the company was named as one of the most reliable diamond jewelry platforms in India, known for its quality products and timely delivery.

In 2019, Sunny Diamonds were featured on Mojarto, India’s leading online art platform that showcases the best dealers and resellers in the country to ensure customer satisfaction and improve the overall shopping experience. The company also won "Excellence in design - coloured gemstone " category from Retailer Jewellery guild on Sept 30th 2019. The design was patent-pending and an official patent for the design was received in September 2020.^[13]

Process

Before custom jewelry is created, several design concepts are rendered and followed by Sunny Diamond’s technical team. They first draw detailed technical drawings that undergo technical assessment for the composition, fabrication and wearability assisted by computer-aided photo-realistic renderings. Their craftsman uses a CAD model for creating a 3-D wax model to give the clients an idea of what their desired piece would look like. Once the design is approved by the client, the design is rendered and fabricated on a pre-approved diamond and gold choice.

Products

Sunny Diamonds offers a diverse range of products that are certified by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS Hallmark) which ensures the premium quality of their products. Its products are mostly wearable art that mostly fits within the client’s budget. Sunny Diamonds is best known for selling Internally Flawless Diamonds which are the top most in clarity grade chart on GIA. They offer its unique custom jewelry products including rings, earrings, pendants, bracelets, bangles, noseprins, necklace and gift cards that can suit their style and preferences. All of their diamonds are certified by GIA and meet 4Cs quality grade.
