Sukkerchok is a danish pop group, originally formed by Kat Stephie Holst, Malene Qvist, and Tina Inez Gavilanes Granda.

History

The group was originally formed to produce "Hvor som helst – når som helst," the title song for the reality show Paradise Hotel's fifth seasen. The song received a gold certification and spent 26 weeks on the Danish hit-single list, and ranked of fourth on the list. In 2009, Sukkerchok released their debut album, also titled Hvor som helst – når som helst. The album reached the #5 slot on the Danish hit-album list and received a gold certification. In 2010, Inez left the group and Simone Cameron joined in her place. The newly formed trio released the group's second studio album, De 1000 drømmes nat, in 2010.

The group has participated in the Dansk Melodi Grand Prix two times. In 2009 they competed with their song "Det' det", which tied for third place.[1] The song received a gold certification in 2011 after selling 15,000 downloads. In 2010 Sukkerchok competed again as a wildcard with their song "Kæmper for kærlighed", which did not advance beyond the preliminary round.[2]

In September of 2011, the group announced that they were taking a break for an indefinite length of time.[3] In March of 2020, the three original members announced that they were reuniting without Cameron.[4][5]

By the age of twelve, she began writing her own songs and recorded her first tracks at the age of sixteen. She graduated from Nørre Gymnasium as a language and music student in 2006. Outside of her career with Sukkerchok, Holst has produced singles as a solo artist and performed on a children's singalong show.
