Stella Smyth is a singer-songwriter and music producer from the United States. Her music is mostly self-written and self-produced entirely.[1] She is mostly known for her song Bored which went viral on TikTok, receiving over five million views in four months.[2] As of February 2020, her Spotify profile has over 9,000 monthly listeners.[3]
Career
Smyth released her first single, Winter, on 30 July 2016, exclusively on SoundCloud.[4] She then followed with the release of Do You See Me Now, on 31 October 2016, also exclusively on SoundCloud.[5]
In 2018, Smyth released her debut studio album, Aftermath, containing nine tracks, five of which being singles.[6]
Throughout 2018 to early 2019, Smyth was featured in tracks by Kaivon and Subfer, as well as featuring on NOKO's debut EP in the song Real Thing in 2019.[7]
On 22 May 2020, Smyth released American Spirit, the lead single of Vienna.[8]
In July 2020, Smyth released her sophemore album, Vienna, on the same day as the release of the second single, Closure.[9]
On 4 September 2020, Smyth issued Bored, the lead single of Everest.[10] Smyth announced the single on her TikTok account.[11][2] The video gained a lot of attention, which brought many new listeners to Smyth's music. Bored is now her most streamed song on all streaming services.[12] Shortly after this release, the second single Downtown was issued.[13]
On 9 October, Everest, Smyth's third studio album was released, containing thirteen tracks. Shortly after this release, Smyth released live versions of Downtown and All I Need Is Time, two tracks from Everest, as well as for You Get To Choose, a track from her previous album Vienna.[14]
In January 2021, Smyth announced on TikTok that The Bluffs, the lead single of her upcoming fourth studio album, would be released on 12 March 2021.[15]
