Sofia Carmen Estrada (born March 7, 1971) popularly known as Sofia Castro is a Hispanic - Cuban American Real estate Entrepreneur and Philanthropist.
Early life and education
Castro was born in Hialeah, FL on March 7, 1971. She dropped out of school after her 10th grade.
Career
Castro began working at a bedding company as an assistant/receptionist. She then shifted to Pipeco a construction company. After that, she tried her entrepreneurial career and failed. She took hold of the situation and enrolled in school to become a radiologist & then worked in a cardiologist’s office. She founded the Finance Team of America, a leasing equipment brokerage where Castro worked a day in and out to get this business blooming.
In 2001, Castro with her husband merged a new partner to the company and transformed the company into Bankers Healthcare Group (BHG), a private lending equity firm specific to the medical industry. In 2003, she began a multi-family/condo conversion business, Her business really got the spike in 2011 and Castro established Ortsac Investments, a multifamily investment portfolio, that was started with 50 doors, now has 3000 doors with value over 450 million dollars.
Personal life
Castro was raised by a Cuban immigrant parents family with 5 brothers and 1 sister. Castro is married to Bobby Castro, and the couple is blessed with 2 children Priscilla Chesney and Brandon Castro, and 2 grandchildren Ocean Chesney and Oakley Chesney.
