Simon Duffy (born 1st November 1971 in Hampshire, England) is a British record producer, composer and engineer/mixer. His sound has been described as a blend of dance meets pop/indie.[1][2]

Career

Simon Duffy first gained recognition as a writer with "Chase the Sun", a single that reached number 5 in the UK Singles Chart.[3][4] The song remains the darts anthem in the UK.[5][6]

Duffy has collaborated extensively with musicians including Dino Lenny,[7] Paul Harris, and Mr Hudson.[8] In 2015, Duffy's song with Paul Harris and Dragonette, "One Night Lover", garnered significant attention with over eleven million streams on Spotify.[9]

In 2014, he produced Dirty Vegas' EP, Let The Night, which earned a FIMI certification.[10]

In 2016, the title track "Pressure in an Empty Space" from the album he produced with Buchanan[2] was nominated for the Vanda & Young Global Songwriting Competition.[11] The lead single, "Coming Down", received firm radio and club support throughout the UK and Ibiza, debuting at No. 29 on the Music Week Commercial Pop Charts.[12]
