Sheikh Umer Rehan (born 9 May 1979) is a Pakistani Businessman. He is also currently serving as the President of Korangi Association of Trade & Industry (K.A.T.I), known as the largest and one of the most vibrant trade associations of Pakistan, since 2019.[1] He also leads a number of corporations including Umer Bilal Industries[2] and Mubashar Corporation.[3]

Early life and education

Born on 9 May 1979 in Gujrat, He earned his Collaborative Commerce Education (C.Com) from Government Commerce College, Gujrat, Pakistan. Umer began his career in 1997 by joining the business of his father. [4]

Business career

Formation of Umer Bilal Industry: His grand father Sheikh Muhammad Hassan, had established oil mill with the name of Chenab Oil Mill in Faisalabad in 1948, which was later converted into a ghee mill in 1977 and it was named as Khaqan Safdar Vegetable Ghee Mills (Pvt) Ltd. Umer began his career in 1997 by joining the business of his father and is currently working as C.E.O of the corporation.[5] As of 2018, Umer started working as Executive Director in Mubashar Corporation Limited, a corporation based in Faisalabad.[6] Renowned Positions and Works Sheikh Umer Rehan is the President of Korangi Association of Trade & Industry (KATI), known as one of the largest trade associations of Pakistan. He has been elected for the term 2019-2020 and he is currently serving the business community of Karachi.[7] He had also served as the Vice Chairman of Pakistan Vanaspati Manufacturers Association (PVMA) for the term 2018-2019.[8] and before chairing the Vice Chairman seat of PVMA he has also served as the Chairman of Vegetable Oil Committee of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FPCCI) from 2017-2019. [9]

Personal life

Umer is a Pakistani who belongs to Muslim Shaikh community. He has a wife, Nida Umer, to whom he married in 2005 and they both have two sons; Ismail and Ahmer, and three daughters; Laiba, Maria and Sarina. Nida is from a renowned Puri Family who owns a Windscreen Business named Amjad Auto Corporation. Umer is also engaged in philanthropic work as the President of Karachi Defence Housing Authority (D.H.A) Lions Club, a global charity foundation.[10]
