Scott Beaumont (born 30 December 1971) is a British businessman, President of Asia Pacific Business & Operations for Google [1] [2] [3] [4] [5]. Since 2019 he has been the lead spokesperson for Google on its announcements in Asia Pacific.
Early life
Beaumont was born in Tenterden, Kent. He was educated at Borden Grammar School and University of Sheffield, where he received a dual Honours degree in 1994.
Career
Beaumont began his career as an Equity Analyst at James Capel in London, covering technology and the emerging internet and mobile telephony industries. He then led business development at a mobile internet start-up within Deutsche Telekom, which in time evolved into a EVP role for T-Mobile International [6]. In 2004, he undertook a management buyout of a publishing project within T-Mobile, co-founding Refresh Mobile in early 2005 [7] [8]. Beaumont joined Google at the beginning of 2009, leading its Partnerships activities in Northern Europe before moving to Shanghai in 2013 to lead its Greater China and Korea activities [9] [10]. He took on the Asia-Pacific role in March 2019 [11] [12] and resides in Singapore. Beaumont sits on the advisory board of Asia House [13] and of McLaren Racing.
Personal life
Beaumont married Caroline Smith in 2001 and has two sons (born 2006 and 2008). They are supporters of Parkinson’s UK [14] and sponsor scholarships both at the University of Sheffield [15] and United World College of South East Asia.
