Sagar Kamble born in 1996 [1] is an Indian International Marathon Endurance Swimmer [2]. Sagar works for the Indian railways [3]. Sagar started swimming at the age of 8 at the Deccan Gymkhana in Pune. At the age of 16 Sagar was selected to swim 200 mt Butterfly for the school nationals and then went to Bangalore in 2014 to swim with the coach Nihar Ameen. Sagar then broke the senior state record in 200mt butterfly with a timing of 2.15. Sagar first started swimming open water in 2011 and undertook a 3km swim. In 2016 Sagar started working on the Indian Railways and started competitive swimming for the Central Railway department.

It was a dream for Sagar to swim the English Channel so he undertook his first open water marathon event in 2016 . In July 2020 Sagar successfully swam the Catalina channel [1]. In June 2022 Sagar successfully swam the English Channel [4][5][6] and has subsequently been awarded the trophy for being the best swimmer in Arduous conditions for this challenging swim [7]. Sagar completed this remarkable achievement at the age of 25. Sagar has been recognized by Maharashtra Government and been awarded the prestigious Shiv Chhtrapati Maharashtra Government Highest Award 2019-2020 [8]
