Roodmy Poulard (born 18 September 1984) is Haitian director, cinematographer, editor, writer, and photographer. He has directed a number of short movies, TV series and films including Triumph, Legacy, House of Dolla's, InstaFAME and Myles Raven.
Early life
Poulard was born on 18 September 1984 in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. Right from his childhood he was inclined towards dancing. He became a dancer by following Micheal Jackson footsteps rather than becoming a filmmaker.
Career
Poulard started his professional career when he was hired to direct a music video. In 2014, he moved to America to pursue a career in film and television. In a short span of time, he was named as one of the top photographers for NYFW private shows. He attempted to impress his colleagues with photography and soon began his production work for major celebrities including Emmy award winner Cicely Tyson, Rapper Sean Combs’ production team.
He directed and cinematographed his independent short movies and TV series on OTT platforms such as Netflix, channels including HBO, MTV, BET, Pandora, Velvet Film and Revolt. Apart from films he has directed a number of music videos, short films, commercials, independent feature films and documentaries, which helped him to establish footprints in the industry.
Currently, Poulard focuses primarily on independent feature films. To diversify, he founded production company Poulard films, as an independent film and production company to focus on helping working creatives and filmmakers to build high quality content for their audience.
