Roger Lynch is the chief executive officer of Condé Nast. Since joining Condé Nast in 2019, Lynch has been responsible for the media company's global integration across its 37 brands operating in 31 markets worldwide.[1][2]

Career

Lynch's experience leading companies began in 1999 as president and CEO of Chello Broadband in Amsterdam. There he pioneered the pan-European rollout of consumer broadband services.[3]

Lynch then became chairman and CEO of Video Networks International Ltd., an IPTV provider based in the United Kingdom. During his leadership there, the company won an Emmy and a BAFTA award for its channels.[4]

He then started working with Dish Networks, based in the United States. There, he became the founding CEO of Sling TV, the first subscription service offering a bundle of cable and network channels on a digital platform.[5] He oversaw the service's launch in 2015, which received top honors from the international Consumer Electronics Show and a Technology and Engineering Emmy award.[6][7]

In 2017, Lynch was named president and CEO of Pandora, where he led the music streaming service to accelerated revenue growth and positive returns.[8] Sirius XM acquired Pandora in February 2019.[9]

Lynch became CEO of Condé Nast in April 2019 –– the first global CEO in the media company's history. In his first eight months, the company launched new editions of its titles in several countries around the world and made public commitments to reduce its environmental impact, with changes to all levels of work.[10][11][12][13][14][15][16] Lynch also established a new global leadership team charged with helping the business expand worldwide.[17][18][19]

Early life

Lynch spent much of his childhood in Baltimore, Maryland –– it was there he started his first job delivering newspapers.

He went on to attend the University of Southern California and received a Bachelor of Science in physics. After graduation, he spent time working in aerospace and defense, before enrolling at the Tuck School of Business, where he graduated with highest distinction.[20] After earning his MBA, he started working in technology investment banking at Morgan Stanley.

Personal life

Lynch lives with his wife in New York. He has three children and two grandchildren. He plays the lead guitar in an all-CEO rock band.[21]
