Raimond Abdurakhmanovich Magomedaliev (Lua error in package.lua at line 80: module 'strict' not found.; born 10 June 1990)[1] is a Russian professional mixed martial artist/sambist, who currently competes in the Welterweight division. He has competed both in Eagle Fc and One Championship.

He is one time combat sambo world champion (FIAS),[2] two-time World Wushu Sanda world champion[3][4][5] and one-time runner-up at World Hand-to-Hand Combat Championships.[6] And in April 18, 2017, he was awarded International Master of Sports in Combat Sambo by Russian Sports Ministry.[7]

Early life

Magomedaliev was born on June 10, 1990 in Makhachkala, Russia.[8] As a 10 years old, Magomedaliev, was convinced into joining a wrestling club by his father.[9] Later on his life, Magomedaliev decided to join the Russian military, where he attained the rank of lieutenant.[10] It was during his military service, Magomedaliev competed in various combat sports, where he won world championships in combat sambo, kung fu, wushu sanda, and hand-to-hand combat.[11][12]

Magomedaliev decided to seriously pursue a career in Mixed Martial Arts, after he watched an K-1 Grand Prix fight on TV.[13][14]

Mixed martial arts career

Magmomedaliev trains out of both in Eagles MMA[15][16] and Krepost Fight Club[17][18] in his native Dagestan; while in USA, he is primarily associated with American Top Team gym.[19]

He made his amateur debut in September, 2014 at Cup Of Russia, where he defeated Alexey Susaev via first-round knockout;[20][21] he did not go very far in tournament.

Fight Nights Global/Dagestan Cage Fighting Championship

March 5, 2015, Magomedaliev had his first pro debut during Fight Nights - Fight Club 1 event, against Gennady Simonov, where he won by first-round submission via Armbar.[22] In his second pro fight at Fight Nights - Fight Club 5, he beat Dmitry Shestakov by unanimous decision.[23]

In 2016 Magomedaliev fought in Dagestan Cage Fighting Championship, where he KO'd Tajik fighter, Jahongir Saidjamolov in the second-round.[24] And in September of the same year, EFN - Fight Nights Global 51 event, he TKO'd Russian fighter Ruslan Zhemukhov in the second-round.[25][26]

In March 30, 2018, Magomedaliev fought in Fight Nights Global for the last time, where he defeated the Brazilian fighter Valdir Araujo, via first-round KO.[27] After this fight, he signed for One Championship with an unbeaten pro record.

ONE Championship

Magomedaliev had his first fight in One Championship, booked against James Nakashima, where he lost by unanimous decision.[28] In his second fight for One Championship, Magomedaliev defeated Joey Pierotti via first-round submission (Guillotine Choke).[29] In Magomedaliev's third fight, he KO'd Brazilian fighter Edson Marques at first-round.[30]. In his fourth outing for One Championship, Magomedaliev was pitted against Tyler McGuire, where he won by unanimous decision.[31]

Eagle Fighting Championship

In Janurary 28, 2022 Magomedaliev had his first fight for Khabib's Eagle Fighting Championship promotion debut, in Miami, Florida, against Anthony Njokuani, which he won via first-round KO.[32] Two months later on March 11, Magomedaliev defeated Impa Kasanganay via split decision.[33]
