Raffaello Follieri is an Italian-born American serial entrepreneur, real estate developer, investor, and financial expert known for his ventures in green energy and rare metals trading. He is the founder and CEO of Follieri Energy Group, a green energy enterprise, and the founder of Pasele Ltd., a London-based company that produces and sells rare metals all over the world.[1]

Early life and education

Follieri was born and raised in the Italy. He graduated from the University of Roma La Sapienza.

Career

Follieri began his career as a finance specialist in the investment banking industry, where he developed skills in negotiation, management, strategic planning, and leadership.[2]

In 2002, Follieri co-founded the Follieri Group with his father. The company focused on the real estate investment fund sector in the United States. Before this, he successfully established and sold an Italian beauty company and worked at EFFE Holdings, his family's investment firm, which operated in oil trading, mining, and real estate.[3]

In 2012, Follieri founded Pasele Ltd., a London-based company specializing in the production and sale of rare metals worldwide. This venture positioned him as a prominent figure in the global commodities market, controlling approximately eight percent of the rare earth market and managing products valued at around 30 billion euros. Notably, Follieri's adept maneuvering during geopolitical events, such as the Ukrainian war and the subsequent embargo on Russian traders, earned him the title 'king of rare earths.'

Follieri is also the founder and CEO of Follieri Energy Group, a green energy enterprise established in 2012 based in London that has operations in Italy, Greece, and the Middle East. The company is promoting the transition from fossil fuels to renewable energy sources, particularly electric vehicle chargers and hydrogen technology. With a market capitalization of 150 million euros, the Follieri Energy Group manages a substantial portfolio of over 162 petrol stations and three storage facilities.

Follieri's vision for the Follieri Energy Group involves expanding its operations across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, with plans to list the group on the London Stock Exchange within the next three years.

In April 2022, Follieri divested his minority shareholdings in BLS LTD, a leading shipping company, for 1.5 billion euros.

Personal life

Follieri resides in Saudi Arabia. He is married to his wife, Konstantina Koumouri, and they have two children.
