RJ Neary, a native of Armstrong, Iowa, he moving to Omaha at age ten, he is an Americans politician, businessmen, he is a candidate for mayor for Omaha in the 2021 Omaha mayoral election, to become the 52nd Mayor of Omaha, Nebraska.[1] Neary has prior experience in city government, having served as president and chairperson of Investors Realty. [1]

Early life, education and career

RJ Neary was born in Armstrong, Iowa, a small city near the Iowa–Minnesota border.[2] He was one of five children.[3] His parents raised hogs and grew crops on a small Farm. Neary moved to omaha at age of 10.[4] In 1975 Neary earned a degree in Agricultural economics in economics from University of Nebraska - Lincoln.

Business career

Neary began his career in econmics. After graduating from University of Nebraska-Lincoln, Neary worked as a real estate development, opened his own Bar in Omaha, continuing his journey of Entrepreneurship.[5]

In 1987, Neary was elected to Chairperson of Investors Realty, he still serves until this day.[6]

2021 Omaha mayoral election

In November 2020, Neary announced his candidacy for the 2021 Democratic nomination in the 2021 Omaha mayoral election.

Personal life

Neary is Roman Catholic.[7]
