Puneeth B N, professionally known as Puneeth Rudranag[1], is an Indian film actor and director, known for his work in the Kannada film industry. his work is predominantly seen in the Kannada magnum opus KGF chapter 1[2], where he worked as an associate director to Prashanth Neel. He has also played a role in the cinema called "Rugga[3]". He also shared the Best male playback singer SIIMA award for the song "Salaam Rocky bhai " in KGF CHAPTER 1 among other singers.
He is recently known to have launched Yuva Rajkumar, son of Raghavendra Rajkumar and the grandson of late legend Dr Rajkumar. the launch which happened on November 1st 2020, was one of the best launches ever in the industry as per critics and the audience.
He will be making his debut as a director in the film titled Yuva Ranadheera Kanteerava (YRK)[4] which will also marks the debut of Yuva RajKumar[4] in Kannada film industry.
Personal Life
Puneeth rudranag was born in 1984 in Bangalore city, Karnataka state, to R. Nagaraj and Umadevi. His family hails from Magadi in Karnataka. His primary education was done at Bishop Cotton Boys' School in Bangalore.
Career
Puneeth worked in the corporate sector for 6 years initially before teaming up with prashanth Neel. He worked closely with Srii Murali, who is also the brother-in-law of Prashant Neel, in building his team and with Ugramm's release he started his journey in the industry.
While Ugramm released in theatres, he expressed his view over Srii Murali's next project & narrated a story based on real incidents. Prashanth Neel and Srii Murali, surprised by the magnanimity of the project and the genuinity, they advised him to direct the film himself. With Puneeth Rudranag having absolutely no experience in the film industry, Prashanth Neel took him as an associate and trained him through the making of KGF chapter 1, allowing him to explore several departments. While his work was commended throughout, he helped Prashanth Neel design several tough scenes which involved crowds and handled them efficiently.
Dr Soori, one of the advisors pointed out at Puneeth's natural acting skills and fearless attitude to Prashanth and was immediately appointed to conduct acting workshops to several lead actors namely Ram(Garuda), Avinash.B.S(Andrews), Lakki Lakshman (Rajendra Desai), Srinidhi Shetty(Reena), Vinay Bidappa(Virat) and several other predominant characters in KGF chapter 1. After the shoot, he supervised the Hindi dubbing and the overseas and domestic deliveries to Excel entertainment in Mumbai.
He also supervised the songs "Gali Gali" Starring Mouni Roy and "Jokae" starring Tamannaah, which was shot in Mumbai, in the absence of Prashant Neel, as he was busy in post production in Bangalore.
While his popularity grew among technicians, he was approached by Yuva Rajkumar in February 2019 after the release of KGF chapter 1, to direct his debut film.
Prashanth Neel voluntarily let him go to mark his debut with this project and hence Yuva Ranadheera Kanteerava began.
He intensely trained Yuva Rajkumar in acting workshops and teamed up with Sanket mys, to handle camera who was also an assistant to Bhuvan Gowda in the camera department and planned a 5 minute video launch which involves the actors skill set.
The video was released on November 1st 2020[5] in the presence of media, Puneeth Rajkumar|Puneet Rajkumar and Raghavendra Rajkumar|Raghavendra Rajkumar and the video went on to become a phenomenal hit with audiences and crossed 1 million views on youtube[6] within 9 days of its release. The audiences unanimously praised Puneeth Rudranag and his team for the fantastic Visuals and action sequences which were designed by him.
Yuva Ranadheera Kanteerava is currently under pre production and the shoot is expected to begin in 2021.
