Early life and education

Preston was born on September 7, 1990 in Lake Forest, IL. He has two other siblings and is the youngest in the family. As a child, he enjoyed playing every sport, from soccer to swimming and track and field. He used to hang out with his friends and play video games after school. Preston realized at a young age that he was really good at impressions and doing voices. He would sit in front of the TV and mimic the announcers during football games or imitate the commercial voiceovers.

Preston was clinically diagnosed with ADD and ADHD in his 2nd grade and spent several years in therapy trying all sorts of medications to try and treat his anxiety. He struggled with anxiety his entire life and learned techniques to deal with it.

Preston completed his freshman year of college, then dropped out to pursue classes at Second City Chicago as well as the Acting Studio of Chicago. He completed the Second City Improv program as well as Acting Studio of Chicago Masterclass program.

Career

Originally from Chicago, Preston moved to LA to pursue acting. He started working at Jimmy John's sandwich chain near USC, delivering food on a bike to hungry college students. He did some research about a company called “Central Casting” and realized this was what he wanted to be doing with his time, which involved being on set, learning the nitty-gritty of the film business firsthand, and getting paid for it. Preston then decided to quit his job at Jimmy Johns to pursue acting full time. He had fortunately saved enough money to be able to work background full time and support himself while also auditioning and building his resume. He did background work from 2014-2017 with other part-time jobs to ensure his financial stability.

In the early part of 2017, Preston was fortunate enough to book a photo double gig on The Mindy Project, which allowed him to join SAG. Then, in the summer of 2017, he auditioned for a featured background role on Will and Grace and shot for 6 weeks with the entire cast and crew, including Jim Burrows. Then, a week before airing, Preston was replaced with Anthony Ramos, and the entire 6 weeks of footage was reshot, which was just devastating for him and made him rethink his career at the time. He then decided to take some time off acting and pursue the cannabis industry, observing its legalization in California. Preston is very well educated in cannabis and has a general interest in the industry. He delivered cannabis from 2017 through the end of 2018.

At the beginning of 2019, Preston got the job at Medmen as a Brand Ambassador, a program which dissolved in March 2019, only 3 months after he got the job. However, he was lucky to have a friend who worked at the Medmen West Hollywood retail store. He sent him an invitation to a Hollywood High in the Hills party a day before the brand ambassador program was dissolved. The event was a Medmen X Kurvana promotional party to promote Kurvana's new vape line. Preston ended up going to the party and meeting the head of sales for Kurvana. Within 3 weeks, he was hired as a Brand Ambassador for Kurvana where he served from April 2019 to November 2019. Later, he was asked to manage the western territory of Los Angeles as a Territory Manager, where he worked from December 2019 to August 2020. His responsibilities expanded, and he managed the company's products in over 100 different dispensaries and shops within all of Los Angeles.

In August of 2020, Preston parted ways with Kurvana and took a few months off before deciding his next move. This is when he decided to start TikTok and content creation. He didn’t get much success for the first few months, but then things changed considerably for him. In November of 2020, Preston got an opportunity to be a stand-in for Lil Dicky on his show Dave, on FX, where he worked from November 2020 to March 2021, along with creating content for TikTok.

In early February of 2021, Preston had his first viral video on TikTok that gained him 3.5 million followers. He created a character called “The King of Cream,” and a frequently used meme’d catchphrase “That’s so creamy.” Fortunately, by the time filming had finished on Dave, Preston had enough success to start creating content full time.

However, over the course of 10 months, from February 2021 to December 2021, he was banned 11 times, which significantly damaged his progress at the time. As of January 2022, owing to a shift in content moderation policies, Preston has been able to create content daily for his fans.
