Philip Mountford is British born, international business and retail leader.

Early life

Born Philip Francis Mountford in Camberley, England in 1965, Mountford started his career at the age of 17 as a management trainee for Simpsons of Piccadilly.

Career

  • 1999 to 2002 managing director UK and Scandinavia Versace[1]
  • 2002 to 2009 CEO of Moss Bros[2][3]
  • April 2004 to April 2005 advisor to premium fashion brand AllSaints where, working with fashion financier Kevin Stanford co-founder of Karen_Millen, All Saints was restructured.
  • In 2009 to present CEO for Hunkemöller International[4] [5]
  • During Mounford's leadership of Hunkemöller the business had three private equity owners: Maxeda, PAI Partners and The Carlyle Group. In November 2020 The Carlyle Group was reported to be exploring a sale of the Hunkemöller business.[6] All three equity owners have supported his strategy of creating a branded experience on the High Streets [7] [8]
  • In 2018 (For the year 2017) Hunkemöller won European retailer of the year and Mountford won best retail executive.[9][10]

Baugur Group

During 2008 Mountford led the Moss Bros group through a protracted takeover approach by Baugur_Group with the Bauger Group subsequently collapsing into administration in 2009.[11][12][13]

Personal life

He is married to Sarah Marissa Mountford and has four children Natasha Louise Mountford, Callum James Mountford, Rafferty Max Mountford, Zachary Maddox . Philip, Sarah, Rafferty and Zachary currently live in Amsterdam.
