Peter Ralston was the first non-Asian to win the full-contact world martial arts tournament in the Republic of China in 1978. [1][2][3]
Blood Sport
It is said that the movie Bloodsport (film) was inspired by Peter Ralston's winning of the world tournament.[4]

Fighting in a competition that had previously been marred by the deaths of competitors, in 1978 Peter Ralston became the first non-Asian to win the full-contact Martial Arts World Tournament in China. It's said the movie Bloodsport was inspired by his efforts.
