Anthony Patrick Francis Ingram (born 3 October, 1964), known as Patrick Ingram, is an English-Irish chief executive officer and accountant. He is currently the managing director of CLC World Resorts & Hotels,[1][2] an international timeshare resorts company based in the Costa del Sol, Spain.

Early life

An only child, Patrick Ingram was born in Leicester, England to Francis Ingram, a builder, and Elizabeth Francis, who worked as a nurse, Irish immigrants that left Ireland during the early 1960s. He grew up on Broad Avenue, where he first attended Holy Catholic Primary School, before eventually attending Corpus Christi, now St Paul's Catholic School, Leicester, for secondary school. While growing up Ingram played football at school, and in his free time was an avid reader of novels and comic books. Throughout his life he would become the fan of multiple sports teams, including the Leicester Tigers, Leicester City F.C. and the Kansas City Chiefs.

Upon finishing school, Ingram was accepted into Brunel University London where he did a Bachelor's in Industrial Chemistry and achieved First Class Honours upon graduating.

Career

1987–1996:

Realising that he favoured a career in accounting as supposed to that of chemistry, Ingram began work at Stoy Hayward & Co (BDO Global) in August 1987, an international accounting, tax and consultancy firm. While working there he trained to get his accountancy qualification, of which he passed all his tests on first try.

Ingram left Stoy Hayward & Co in 1992 to work for House of Fraser,[3] a UK based department store group owned by the Harrods group at the time. He subsequently left in 1996, due to disapproval of the new management team assigned after the initiation of a joint venture with the British Land Company[4]

1996–present:

For a 6 month period in the latter half of 1996, Ingram worked for CLC World Resorts & Hotels on their Club La Costa World resort in Mijas, Spain where he worked as a finance controller. Having completed the fixed-term contract contract, he went to live in Hong Kong for a number of months before eventually returning due to not taking to the expatriate culture there.

Ingram returned to work at Club La Costa in 1997 on a permanent employment contract. In 2001, he was promoted to the role of finance director of the resort company. Ingram led negotiations with ILG, Inc., where a part of the CLC World resort management business was sold. When ILG was bought by Marriott Vacations Worldwide Corporation[5] this part of the business was bought back. These successful negotiations later contributed towards Ingram's promotion to managing director (chief executive officer) in 2016.

Personal Life

Ingram has lived in the Costa del Sol for over 23 years. In 2001 he married Pilar Medina del Campo, who he met through work. They have two children, Miguel and Elena. Ingram has often stated that upon retiring he will turn to writing science-fiction and fantasy novels, fuelled by his deep passion for literature.
