Pandit Pradeep Mishra (born June 16, 1977), also known as Raghuram and Sehore Wale Baba, is an Indian spiritual guru and orator renowned for his discourses on Hindu scriptures, particularly the Shiva Purana.[1] He serves as the chief priest at the Kubreshwar Dham, Kubereshwar Mahadev Mandir in Sehore, Madhya Pradesh. He is a popular Kathavachak who has garnered a considerable following on social media and YouTube, where he shares his insights and teachings.[2]

Early years

Family

Mishra was born on June 16, 1977, in Sehore, Madhya Pradesh. He was the eldest of three children to Rameshwar Dayal Mishra (father) and Seeta Mishra (mother) and was brought up in a Hindu Brahmin family. Mishra’s childhood was one of poverty, where his father used to sell black gram on the streets. As a child, Mishra accompanied his parents to spiritual events, fostering his early interest in spirituality. Growing up, Mishra was inclined towards Hindu scriptures and spiritual teachings.

Education

Mishra received his primary education in Sehore and obtained a bachelor's degree.

Religious career

Mishra received his Guru Diksha from Shri Govardhan Nath in Indore. He is known for preaching the Shiva Purana and Shrimad Bhagwat Katha.[3]

Career

Mishra worked as a school teacher before transitioning to a full-time pandit in his village. His journey into spiritual preaching began with the recitation of Shrimad Bhagwat Katha. Later, he received Guru Diksha from Shri Govardhan Nath in Indore.[4]

Sehore Wale Baba

After completing his Deeksha in Indore, Mishra returned to his village and began reciting Shrimad Bhagwat Katha at small spiritual events.[5]

He is the chief priest at the Kubreshwar Dham, a Hindu pilgrimage site dedicated to Shiva in Chitodiya Hema in Sehore District, Madhya Pradesh. His focus shifted towards the Shiva Purana, leading to the rise of his Shiva Purana discourses, notably gaining popularity during the COVID-19 lockdown in 2020 when his YouTube videos garnered significant attention.[6]

Post-lockdown, Mishra organized notable events such as Rudraksha Mahotsav and Shiv Puran Katha in Sehore, attracting large audiences and solidifying his position as a spiritual leader.[7]

Social Activities

Mishra has established the Shri Vitthalesh Seva Samiti in Sehore, Madhya Pradesh, dedicated to providing free food for his followers. Additionally, the organization extends its support to community initiatives such as cow welfare services and medical facilities for those in need.[8]

Mishra has a strong social media presence, boasting 9.144 million followers across various platforms. Notably, he has garnered 1.9 million followers on Facebook, 6.69 million subscribers on YouTube, and 554K followers on Instagram. His widely viewed videos have garnered between three and ten million views, contributing to his substantial online following.[9]

In 2022, Mishra's online video content attracted the highest number of simultaneous viewers, earning him a spot in the World Book of Records in London.

Personal life

Mishra resides in Sehore, Madhya Pradesh. He is married and has two sons, Madhav and Raghav Mishra.
