Oogiebear is an American company that creates baby care products to assist parents in maintaining nasal and ear hygiene. The company was founded in 2015 by Nina Farzin and her husband, Sina Farzin. Oogiebear aims to offer a safe and effective solution for removing sticky and dried mucus from babies' noses and ears.[1] The innovative design of Oogiebear provides a gentle and efficient method to address common challenges faced by parents during their infants' cold and flu seasons.[2]

History

Oogiebear was established in 2015 by husband and wife Sina and Nina Farzin in Potomac, Maryland. Nina, a mother of three children, encountered the challenges of the cold and flu seasons, especially in dealing with dry, stubborn boogers in newborns and infants. Nina's desire to ease babies' suffering from mucus buildup served as the inspiration for Oogiebear.[3] Recognizing the lack of effective products on the market for nasal hygiene, Nina developed a unique tool that combined expertise, care, and safety.[4]

The inception of Oogiebear marked a significant milestone in revolutionizing the baby nasal aspirator category by introducing modern solutions for effectively cleaning little noses and ears.

On September 23, 2022, Oogiebear appeared on Episode 1 of Shark Tank US Season 14.[5] During the episode, the company received an offer of $600,000 for 10% equity from sharks Robert Herjavec and Barbara Corcoran.[6]

Products

Oogiebear's flagship product is a dual-ended tool designed to address nasal and ear hygiene in infants. It features a loop end for sticky boogers and a scoop end for dried mucus removal. The Oogiebear booger tool utilizes soft rubber and firm plastic tips to ensure a secure grip for parents while being gentle on the baby's delicate skin.[7] The versatile design extends its benefits beyond nasal cleaning to include ear hygiene, providing a comprehensive solution for maintaining infants' health.[8]

The product’s patented bear-head design ensures safety during use by preventing the tool from going too far into the baby's nose or ears.[9] It is lightweight, easy to clean, and portable, offering convenience for both home and on-the-go use, making it an essential tool in infant care routines worldwide. Additionally, a light-up version of Oogiebear was introduced to aid parents, especially during nighttime use.[10][11]

In addition to its flagship product, Oogiebear offers a variety of baby care items, including teething toothbrushes, ear cleaners, aspirators, nose balms, chest rubs, and other essentials.[12][13]

The products are available on the company's website and in major retail stores and websites such as Target, Buy Buy Baby, Nordstrom, Walmart, and Amazon.[14]
