Early life and education

Baidya was born and raised in Agartala, Tripura, where he attended the Shishu Bihar Higher Secondary School. He obtained a medical degree (MBBS) from the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences, Imphal, Manipur, in 2009, followed by an MD in 2012 from the same institution.

Career

Baidya’s career spans across medicine, education, and philosophy. He currently serves as an associate professor of physiology at ESIC-PGIMSR and ESI Medical College, Kolkata.

Baidya has made significant contributions to moral philosophy. His research explores the role of intrinsic morality in living organisms and its implications for human behavior and societal development. Baidya has proposed a mathematical model for intrinsic morality, suggesting it exists within all living organisms to aid survival.[4][5][6]

Through his writing, Baidya has advocated for a society built on human virtues, proposing that compassion, forgiveness, and nonviolence serve as foundational pillars for lasting peace.[7] He has also linked morality to natural laws, suggesting that intrinsic moral structures underlie the physical and cosmic order. Baidya combines medical science with philosophical inquiry, focusing on the application of virtues such as compassion and nonviolence to address social challenges and promote peace.[8][9]

He has authored several books, including A Path to World Peace, Morality Beyond Human Brain: A Philosophical and Scientific Exploration, and Nature and Morality, which discuss the connections between ethics, human development, and global peace.[10][11][12]
