Omar Mohuddin,(born February 24, 2004) is an American businessman who is currently running for the position of Mayor in Woburn, Massachusetts in the 2023 election. A member of the Democratic Party, he is the first African-American candidate in the city of Woburn.

Biogr

In 2018, he began high school at WMHS. He was elected class president in his junior year, as well as other various leadership roles throughout his academic & extracurricular careers. In 2020, he also began working at Reading Cooperative Bank.

In 2022, Mohuddin represented his senior class in a vote to move their graduation to a Friday night.[1]. This Friday night graduation was the first of its kind. [2] Omar Mohuddin announced his candidacy in early March intending to run for Mayor of Woburn in 2023[3][4][5]. His platform focuses on education, first responders, and infrastructure. He is a major advocate for youth being involved in politics[6].

Education

Omar graduated from WMHS in 2022 as Magna Cum Laude and Class President. He was offered a full-ride scholarship by Northeastern University.

Taking an accelerated pathway to university, Omar was able to complete courses following his high school graduation. He currently is studying Business Administration with a concentration in Finance[7]
