Olivier Reza (born January 18, 1974) is a French entrepreneur who serves as the chief executive officer of Reza International, a Parisian Jewelry House located in New York.[1][2][3]

Reza is a seasoned business professional with a wealth of experience. He holds several executive roles, such as the managing partner at Myro Capital, the former director at Collector IQ, the founder and CEO of Eleven James, and Sotheby’s board of directors.[4][5]

Early life and education

Reza was born on January 18, 1974 in Boulogne-Billancourt, France, the son of Karin Reza and Alexandre Reza, a world-renowned jeweler and gemstone collector. Reza was the oldest of two children. Growing up, he was inspired by the ornate architecture of France and expressed a passion for nature at a young age. He would often wake up early to work in his family's garden, where his father taught him to appreciate the beauty of nature. Growing up, he developed an appreciation for architecture, especially the details and grandeur of New York City. Reza frequently accompanied his father on trips to explore and collect precious stones. As he grew older, he continued incorporating his father's teachings and the Mashhadi philosophy into his sense of beauty and aesthetics.

Despite his passion for aesthetics and gemstones, Reza chose to pursue a career in banking, studying economics and business at Sciences Po Paris and receiving a master's in law, business, and tax law from Panthéon-Assas University. This helped him solidify new skills and knowledge to run his family business successfully.

Career

Reza began his career at Lazard in New York and later founded and managed the financial-services company Myro Capital.[6][7][8]

In 2008, Reza took over as the CEO of REZA International, a company that had been his family business for over 80 years.[9] Under his leadership, the company has focused on downsizing its European presence and designing new pieces for a select group of existing clients.[10] This emphasis on maintaining the company's heritage and striving for perfection in artisanship has set Reza apart from its competitors.[11] As CEO of REZA International, Reza undertook two essential steps: primarily transitioning the business from Place Vendome to its current Madison Avenue outlet, second enhancing its digital presence.[12] Reza has a unique vision for the future of luxury and aspires to create a digital-first experience for customers, delivering rich and meaningful interactive content throughout the customer journey. REZA is the first company amongst high-end jewelers to make its entire collection available online on its website. Visitors to the website can try on jewelry with Reza's exclusive virtual reality application.[13][14][15]

In addition to operating as the CEO of REZA International, Reza has also held several executive positions, such as director of Collector IQ, a private art database of more than 320,000 artists and millions of works of art; he was appointed CEO of the digital high-end watch membership company Eleven James in 2017; and until recently was on Sotheby's board of directors.[16][17]
