Oege-Sietse van Lingen (born 21 October 1999) is a Dutch football player who plays as a striker for Luxembourg club F91 Dudelange.

Early Career

Born in Twijzelerheide, Netherlands, van Lingen started out playing football at VVT Twijzelerheide in his village when he was 7 years old. He was later scouted by FC Groningen and played there from the age of 8 to 18. At 17, he started training with the Under 23 where he also played 12 games in the Derde Divisie and occasionally trained with the first team. At 18, he made the transfer to SC Cambuur where he played in the Under 23 team. There he played 16 matches in which he scored 18 times and gave 2 assists. After this season van Lingen got transferred to Dutch club ONS Sneek[1], here he became top scorer with 9 goals and gave the most assists, 13 times in Covid-19's aborted football season which earned him a transfer to the Netherlands' outstanding "amateur" club VV Katwijk.

VV Katwijk

In his first year at VV Katwijk, he played only twice after the football season was aborted due to Covid-19. The following year, van Lingen became champion in the Tweede Divisie[2], he extended his contract but as promotion to the Keuken Kampioen Divisie failed due to KNVB regulations, he had his contract dissolved because he wanted to play for a professional club. A considerable offer did not come along, so he decided to maintain his physical condition at Harkemase Boys in the meantime.

Luxembourg

On January 31, he signed a contract with FC Victoria Rosport[3] in Luxembourg where he was reunited with his best friend Sam Crowther. During the 4 months he played here, he provided the team with 7 goals and 5 assists in 17 games.[4] On April 26, 2023, van Lingen and his club had experienced a historic evening by eliminating F91 Dudelange, one of the most successfull clubs in the country with 16 league and 8 cup titles and reaching the semi-finals of the Luxembourg Cup. Van Lingen played an important role in this victory by scoring the first goal.[5] 4 days later, van Lingen scored against the future champion Swift Hesperange[6] and a week later he scored the winning goal in the league again against F91 Dudelange[7], meaning that the club can no longer become champions.

F91 Dudelange

On June 18 2023, van Lingen signed a two-year contract with the Luxembourg's successfull club after F91 Dudelange bought him for an undisclosed fee.[8]

After just three and a half weeks on July 12, 2023, he made his debut for the club in the UEFA Conference League Qualifiers against St. Patrick's Athletic F.C. from Ireland. In this match, he scored after just 24 minutes, making him entering the history books as the first goal scorer of the 2023/24 UEFA Europa Conference League season.[9] The match was won 2-1 by F91 Dudelange.

The following week, he scored a Hat trick[10] in the away match against St Patrick's Athletic F.C. in Richmond Park (football ground), giving them a 2-3 win and therefore moving on to the next round.[11] These goals made him the top scorer at that moment in the UEFA Conference League with 4 Goals in 2 Matches.[12] The next round, he played 2 matches against Gżira United F.C. where a late goal in injury time ultimately eliminated van Lingen and F91 Dudelange. He and his club went into the winter break in 2nd place in the league table.
