NomadBSD is a Unix-like operating system based on FreeBSD featuring a persistent live system for USB flash drives.[1][2] This BSD is unique as it is designed to be used as a live desktop system that works out of the box using automatic hardware detection and setup.

Recommended system requirements

The following are the recommended requirements.[1]

  • 64-bit or 32-bit processor (1.2GHz)
  • USB flash drive (5GB or greater)
  • 1 GB of RAM
  • Network access
  • BIOS and UEFI booting both supported
