Nimbus is a cleaning and facilities management startup founded in 2017 by Daniel Thong. It is best known for providing total office management solutions via a combination of in-house operators and third-party service partners. Nimbus is recognized as the first cleaning startup to advocate for higher wages for low-wage earners and the first startup to create an Employee Share Option Pool which included share awards to cleaners.[1]

Nimbus Facility is accredited by IAS, ACS, Biz Safe, IAF, and Tripartite Alliance for Fair & Progressive Employment Practices (TAFEP). The company is the recipient of the BizSafe Star Award and CleanMark Silver Award. It has been featured in several media outlets including The Business Times, Yahoo, The Straits Times, and others.[2]

History

The idea of establishing Nimbus was conceived by Daniel Thong, an Oxford tech entrepreneur. Nimbus Facility Pte Ltd and Rooma Services Pte Ltd are both owned by Nimbus Enterprise Pte Ltd (Nimbus Group).[3]

Thong wanted to build a tech-enabled facilities company championing wage structures to go beyond the Progressive Wage Model, and use technology and progressive human resource thinking to create incentives and opportunities to uplift the income of low-wage workers.

The aim was to change the perception of the blue collared workers in Singapore and advocate for higher wages for low-wage earners.

All the employees at Nimbus are full-time, trained, and WSQ certified.

Initially, the company focused on commercial and office cleaning spaces but has since expanded into the residential cleaning space via its own proprietary online booking and payment mobile application and web platform to provide on-demand quality home service in Singapore.

Nimbus has served several clients including McCann, SunSeap, Twilio, Unity, Shopback, and others.[4]
