Niko’s videos see impressive levels of exposure, amassing millions of views with every upload. Early life

Born and raised in Staffordshire, Niko was a former member of Buzzfeed.

Career

YouTube

He started his Youtube channel on June 21, 2011 at the age of 13 where he made regular videos on Fifa and creating skits. He played Fifa with YouTuber Johnny Carey and made skits with him too. He included Reev in a video titled "BECOMING A YOUTUBE SENSATION".

The most popular series on his channel is "Fake Employee Prank" which he has done in McDonalds, Subway, Apple Store, Asda, Tesco, Ikea and Starbucks etc. He ended up getting kicked out in every Ikea and Asda Store in the United Kingdom and Ireland. He collaborates with YouTubers such as Chunkz, Sharkz, KingKennyTv, and Aj Shabeel. He has also collaborated with The Zac and Jay Show.

On March 9, 2020 Niko worked with Zerkaa to prank the Sidemen in their SIDEMEN DRAGONS DEN video where Niko had spicy chillies. In early 2019, he founded the group Beta Squad along with Chunkz, Sharky, AJ Shabeel and KingKennyTv. On August 26, 2019 Niko acquired 1 million subscribers.

On Jun 27, 2021 Niko participated as a contestant in the Sidemen's THE WHEEL: SIDEMEN EDITION, where he was the first man to be brought up. Although he claims he has good science, he chose 'Youtube' and managed to answer correctly, although he needed Vik's help. He then chooses 'Memes', with Zerkaa as the expert. Despite Zerkaa's suggestion, Niko opt to pick a different answer (and the rest of the sidemen aware that Niko got it wrong), which resulted in Zerkaa being correct and Niko being sent down. After Calfreezy got his question wrong, Niko returns back with the selection staying the same as before. He shuts down Zerkaa for not convincing him enough despite having it right. He chose 'Memes' once again, this time with KSI as the expert. Although KSI was much more certain, Niko once again defied the expert and KSI was proven right. Realizing the fact that it was him who keeps sabotaging his success, he states that "I'm just stupid". He returns down, never coming back up but getting 10k by Callux.

London Mayoral Candidacy

On 2nd April 2021, Niko Omilana announced his candidacy for the 2021 London mayoral election. Three weeks after his campaign launch Omilana achieved a 5% votership in a poll run by Savanta ComRES, placing him as the highest polled independent candidate.[3] Omilana often commented on how the political system in the UK was "broken for young people", and that he'd aim to get more young people voting in the upcoming mayoral election.[4][5][6]

Niko's manifesto included vows to employ more policemen, rase the minimum wage, turn select McDonalds restaurants into social housing, freeze the River Thames, turn off all power in the city once per year, provide free transport for under 18s, university students and over 69s, and return the price of Freddo chocolate bars back to 5 pence.[7] However the most emphasised point of his manifesto included telling Boris Johnson to "shush".[8]

As an independent candidate Omilana accrued 2% of the overall votes.[9] This placed him as the most voted for independent candidate in the election campaign, attaining just under half the votes that the Liberal Democrats runner, Luisa Porritt, achieved. In the process Omilana beat the Reclaim candidate, Laurence Fox.[10] Resulting in Niko Omilana becoming the 5th highest voted candidate out of the 20 candidates running, surpassing fulltime politicians in the process, an impressive feat by any manner.[11]

Interviewing former Ku Klux Klan Leader Thomas Robb

On the 13th May 2022[12], Omilana posted a video in which he interviewed the former KKK Leader, Thomas Robb.[13] In the video Omilana managed to trick Robb into saying "BLM", a term used to promote the Black Lives Matter Movement.[14] Within the interview Omilana asks if the church Robb was a member of discriminated against admitting specific members, to which Robb later admits that Omilana himself wouldn't be welcome in the church.[15] Omilana also pointed out during the video that despite Harrison, Arkansas is labelled as one of the most racist town's in America,[16][17][18] despite most headlines most people are not racist and only a small group of extreme racists give the town it's label.

The Biggest Menace

The biggest menace is a tv show hosted on YouTube.[19][20] In the show a series of pranks are performed on global stages to see which participant pulls out of the competition first, JiDion or Niko Omilana. In one prank Omilana confronts Shannon Briggs, causing Briggs to push Omilana against a wall.[21] In another one of the episodes Omilana pranks the PGA Tour's Rory McIlroy by using a remote-controlled golf ball to attempt to disrupt gameplay.[22] McIlroy then end's up throwing the remote-controlled ball into the water.[23]

Partnership with Wagamama

In 2022 an announced partnership between Niko Omilana and restaurant chain Wagamama, titles the 'noodle union' club[24], was put in place to encourage university students to go to the restaurant.[25][26] As part of the campaign Omilana visited the chain's restaurant in Camden town centre on Tuesday 28th March.[27] The campaign was then later expanded to include apprentices in addition to the university students already accepted.[28][29]
