Nikhil Bhat is an Indian film director. Bhat started his career as an associate director for Shoonya, an award winning feature directed by Arindam Mitra. He was the Creative Consultant and Head of Promotion for Anurag Kashyap’s Black Friday. He has also co-directed award-winning documentaries such as Seven Tales from an Island, The Great Indian Tiger Project, and Extras. Saluun was Nikhil’s feature debut as writer-director. It follows a salon owner who gets entangled with corrupt politics, then takes on his local government.It premiered at the Cairo Film Festival in 2009.[1] Saluun went to win awards at various other film festivals. Nikhil’s other directorial ventures include the short film Biogas ka Bindaas Business. In 2017, Nikhil Bhat directed Brij Mohan Amar Rahe which premiered at SAIFF (New York)[3]. He also directed Rashbhari, a psychological adult comedy webseries.

In 2020, Nikhil remotely directed The Gone Game, which was filmed entirely during the lockdown and has been receiving both critical and commercial praise.[4] Nikhil is currently directing his feature project Hurdang.[5]
